Situated in the Vumba Mountains of Eastern Zimbabwe this Edwardian style "Gentleman's Residence" occupies 3.6 ha. of riverine forest some 25 km from Mutare at an altitude of just over 1600 meters.

(Ref # C1153) The Main House has a double volume galleried Hall (with separate cloak-room) which is entered from a porte-cochere, below this is a large cellar. On the Ground Floor from the hall the main door leads to the Lounge with folding doors to the Dining Room, near the fireplace in the lounge is a small Bar. From the lounge is the Master Bedroom with dressing room and bathroom. Off the dining room is a fitted kitchen with an adjacent pantry.
On the First Floor there are 3 Double Bedrooms and one Single bedroom and two bathrooms whilst above the lounge and dining room is a study and library which has book cases based on those designed by Sir Christopher Wren for the Dean's Library at Lincoln Cathedral with green stained shelves.
Both the ground and first floors have full length verandas on the garden side which command panoramic views over the mountains into Mozambique.
Adjacent to the main house to the north-east is a Cottage comprising two bedrooms, a lounge, separate bathroom and toilet and a kitchen dining room with its own garage, workshop and and storeroom and a spare bedroom.
To the north-west is the main Garage block with double garages, a laundry, 3 store rooms and a generator room. Behind the main garage block are three staff rooms.
Beyond the cottage and with it's own entrance is the basis of another (but uncompleted) cottage.
Around the buildings the garden is landscaped with mature trees and an orchard. Down the valley near the lower boundary there is a small but charming dam which via a ram pump supplies the water to the buildings. There is also a sound well with electric pump linked into the reticulation and an 18k liter concrete reservoir feed from the roof gutters . All reticulation, except the telephone line, both pipes and wires is carried underground to preserve the views.
