Neighbourhood On Spotlight - Hatfield

Hatfield is a middle income residential suburb in Harare in Zimbabwe, about 8 km South of the city center. It lies between the roads leading to Chitungwiza and Epworth (Seke Road and Chiremba Road respectively). It is bordered by Park Meadowlands, Cranborne, Waterfalls, Chadcombe etc

Hatfield is one of the oldest suburbs in the capital city of Harare having been laid out in 1920. 

Hatfield is one of the suburbs going through changes as a result of densification and increasing commercial activities on major roads and upcoming commercial centres. 

Visible signs of regeneration in a few developments coming up randomly and complete cluster developments such as Arlington Estate. Secure & gated communities such as Arlington Estate & Arlington East are offering improved security, availability of water(underground water), transport links (Hatfield is connected by major Roads such as Airport Road, Chiremba Road, Seke Road, Harare Drive and local services & amenities(coming up on the stretch of Airport  Road) are some of the major attractions.

Commercial activities are now gathering pace along Airport Road, Chiremba Road, and Seke Road with the creation of commercial hubs such as between Glenara Road & St Patricks along Airport Road and the new BJ Southgate Mall in Braeside along Chiremba Road. 

Schools in the area include Hatfield Girls High School, Widdicombe Primary School,Westwood International School, Hatfield Junior School, etc. Falcon Golf  Club is also situated in the neighbourhood. There are many lodges, wedding venues within the area. The Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport is situated within the vicinity of Hatfield.

There is a wide range of properties available for sale and for leasing in Hatfield from, Residential & Commercial Land, Residential Houses & Clusters and Commercial Properties. Houses on an average size of one acre land size are usually on demand for subdivision purposes and prices range from USD100 000-140 000 depending on size of land and strategic location advantages. 

Subdivided residential land averages USD15-20/m2 for an average stand size of 2000m2

Rentals for residential houses  range between  USD600-800 with some well kept houses going for as much as USD1 000 per month. Cottages are also available to rent for as low as USD$200 up to $350 in most cases depending on size and state of amenities.
