City On Spotlight - Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is a small and growing town situated in the north-west corner of Zimbabwe on the Zambezi Valley. The city is home to the world famous Victoria Falls, on the Zimbabwe-Zambia border. The Victoria Falls or Mosi-Oa-Tunya (The smoke that thunders) is  also known world-wide as one of the ‘Seven Natural Wonders of the World’.

The city lies immediately next to the falls, a major and popular tourist destination. The city is situated within the wider Victoria Falls National Park and a short distance upstream lies the Zambezi National Park.Victoria Falls town is a special place where there is the privilege of co-existing with wildlife.

Schools in the city include Chamabondo Primary School, Baobab Primary School, Chinotimba Primary School, Kings Primary School, Victoria Falls Primary School, Mkhosana Primary School, St Josephine Bakita Primary School, Mkhosana Adventist Primary School, Jacaranda Primary School, Mosi-oa-Tunya High School is and Mkhosana Adventist Secondary School (MASS). 

Elephant Walk, Sawanga Shopping Mall, Victoria Falls Shopping Centre and Phumula Centre are some of the major shopping centres located in the city. Victoria Falls, also boasts of a state-of-the-art International Airport. The city is also being promoted as an International Financial Hub with the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange established and located within its boundaries. 

The City of Victoria Falls has immense development potential, being home to be the biggest waterfall in the world, which is popular for its exceptional geological and geomorphological features with outstanding beauty.
